A Local’s Guide To The Perfect Concert Weekend

Happy Friday friends!

We’ve got a big concert weekend ahead- two nights of Luke Bryan! I’ve seen Luke Bryan at the Wharf before and it was genuinely one of the best concerts I’ve been to- and I’ve been to many country music concerts! I thought I would give you guys a few tips on when to show up to stay away from the crowd and suggest a few things that might enhance your concert experience!

First things first… Luke Bryan is coming to The Wharf Amphitheater with special guests Cole Swindell, Jon Langston and DJ Rock on July 19 & 20. If you have not gotten your tickets yet, you can do so here.

When heading to The Wharf for a concert that starts around 7, I would suggest getting there around 4-4:30. You won’t have an issue parking and it will give you and the family time to shop, grab dinner, or both.

There are plenty of lovely shops at The Wharf- to find a full list you can click here.

As far as food goes- there are plenty of options depending on what you are in the mood for. If you would like to sit outside on their patio and take in the atmosphere- check out Villagio Grille. Great place to people watch!

They have amazing wood fired pizzas and the Cowboy Ribeye is delicious! For their full menu, click here. The owners of Villagio Grille also own Yoho Rum & Tacos (find their whole menu here AND Ginny Lane Bar & Grill (menu here)- two other GREAT options! Love the firecracker shrimp tacos at YoHo!

If you are feeling something more casual, check out Blue Water BBQ Company. Incredible ribs and brisket!

There is hardly ever a wait here so if you are hungry and know the kids won’t be able to handle an hour wait- head over and grab some BBQ. Find their whole menu here.

After dinner, check out The Southern Grind Coffee House. They have some of the most delicious desserts! My favorite are their iced sugar cookies and their brownies. So yummy!

They also have gelato and milkshakes if the kids need something to cool off in the heat! I would also recommend their cold brew and they have great sandwiches as well if you decided to pop in for lunch. Find their whole menu here.

If you are having date night and need something to do post-concert, check out Island Time Daiquiris. Open from 12pm-2am! More details here.

Or check out The Boat Bar in Marlin Circle. They stay open late on concert nights and its a great place to sit outside and see the waterway views.

Well, that’s all for today folks, but I hope you all have a great weekend enjoying country music and the Gulf Coast!
